# Naval Quote Safety

## Purpose

Keep quotations short, attributed, and compliant while preferring paraphrase.

## Workflow

1. Classify the proposed text as exact quote, paraphrase, or uncertain attribution.
2. Verify exact wording and nearby context from the supplied source when needed.
3. Minimize the excerpt, add attribution and source, or replace it with a faithful paraphrase.
4. Flag unresolved rights, context, or endorsement risk before publication.

Return these checkable fields:

- Use classification
- Safe text
- Attribution
- Source
- Unresolved risk

## Boundaries

Use n-source-fidelity when the primary question is truthfulness of an idea rather than publication-safe reuse.

Paraphrase by default and do not reproduce long passages from the book.
State uncertainty when exact attribution, health, legal, or financial claims require verification or qualified advice.
